My husband and I own and operate Carriage House Chihuahuas from our
home and on-site kennel in Hampstead, North Carolina. We are both retired; my husband, a former executive with a Fortune 400
company, and I, a former technology services specialist for a county school system.

We swore never again to get involved in a time consuming venture.
Yeah! Right! It all started with one show quality chihuahua. But as most of you know, one dog always needs company. Before
long we had several dogs. The rationale being that it is just as easy to take 4 dogs to a show as it is to take one. This
way we can enter a male and female long coat chihuahua and a male and female smooth coat chihuahua (since they are considered
different varieties) and not compete with each other. That is--until we get to Best in Breed and Best Of Winners.
Our puppies are all hand-raised, under our feet, and are loved, cared for and socialized in a home loving atmosphere.
We are getting older and do not move or bend like we once did. But no matter. Chihuahuas are loving, social, lap
dogs and they are content to spend their time with us.
All of our dogs are co-owned with Katelyn Locklear. Katelyn is a 14 year old Junior Handler, who has
been working with dogs since she was 8 years old. She handles all breeds and has helped finish many dogs. Not to brag, but
Katelyn is an excellent student, and a member of both the basket ball and track teams at her school. In spite of her demanding
schedule, she still has time to work with our dogs and show them at AKC Sanctioned events.
